Key Role

Description

  • Reports to the CEO.
  • To develop and implement the Group’s global communication, public relations and investors’ relations strategy.
  • To build relationships with all functions within the group to achieve a holistic and collaborative approach to customer relations and corporate communications.
  • Supports the ongoing business change agenda through high quality communications on business direction.
  • Raising the external profile and branding of the Group in the shipping industry through initiatives such as corporate events, press releases, conferences, impressions of the company’ annual journals.
  • Accountable for the Group’s customer relationship management strategy, including ultimate accountability for the customer knowledge database, customer research and analysis, and customer contact management.
  • Develop communication strategy in readiness for the company’s potential public listing and playing a key role in the related change management strategy.
  • Providing senior leadership public speaking training, mentoring, coaching, preparation and guidance to ensure high quality delivery of public statements.
  • Overseeing the team’s delivery of high profile corporate events such as ship naming ceremonies and corporate functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor and/or Master Degree in business administration, business management, marketing and communications or related field.
  • With more than 15 years of experience in Corporate Communications within a global and matrixed organization.
  • International exposure in shipping / logistics and/or financial centers.
  • Proven track record in Public Relations, Customers’ Relations and Investors’ Relations.
  • Prior experience in managing pre and post IPO communication.
  • An experienced public speaker and corporate spokesperson.
  • Excellent people management skills with the ability to manage a global multi-cultural, multi-site team.
  • Comfortable with a fast pace, managing multiple stakeholders and working effectively to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt between being hands-on and getting involved in high-level senior management imperatives.

Description

  • Reports to the Senior Business Unit Director or VP Global Business Units

  • Responsibility for Profit & Loss (P&L) as pricing (i.e. materials and value-add) is a core responsibility of the Business Unit Director.

  • Establishes and manages current customer relationships, striving to capitalize on organic revenue growth opportunities.

  • Manages the customer relationship from a strategic relationship perspective.

  • Negotiates contract terms and/or amends established contract terms and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) with customers.

  • Defines the Business Unit organization structure and staffs appropriately.

  • Owns the execution of operational SLA delivery and escalations.

  • Accountable for revenue growth success with assigned customer base.

  • Builds successful relationships with highest-level audiences within the customer’s organization and within company.

  • Responsible for the RFP process for assigned customer accounts.

  • Manages the performance, developments, and rewards for direct reports. Indirectly manages work of others through company’s business model.

  • Responsibility for continuous improvement of customer relationship performance metrics and customer satisfaction.

  • Manages and drives the Quarterly Business Review (QBR) process with assigned customer account.

Qualifications

  • A recognized Degree or Master.

  • Minimum of 5 years in the commercial aviation, defense or aerospace industry.

  • With 10-15 years of experience in Operations, Supply Chain, Business Development, Program and/or Business Management.

  • Good fundamental concepts in practices and procedures of global business awareness/experience (e.g., taxation, laws, culture).

  • Strong knowledge and experience in concepts, practices and procedures of operational functions (e.g., manufacturing, supply chain, etc.)

  • Demonstrated strategic capability to look beyond the customer and understand he end market and industry.

  • Excellent communication skills with strong financial knowledge and aptitude.

  • Strong leadership/people-management skills and customer service skills

  • Frequent travel required.
